Sound is gone - just a buzzing sound

I was just watching some videos on my computer when all of a sudden my sound disappeared. All I hear now are weird buzzing sounds. Even if I do get audio, it sounds quiet, clippy, and distorted. I tried restarting the computer, system restore, and I even reinstalled my audio driver but nothing worked! I also tried plugging my audio cable into a different audio socket, but I still get the same buzzing sounds and bad audio. Is my audio card wrecked for good? PLEASE HELP!!!

System Specs: Dell Inspiron 620: Intel Core i5-2310 2nd gen processor, Intel HD Graphics 2000 w/ audio, Windows 7 64-bit.

Try plugging in headphones or another set of speakers. Make sure to use different cables if you're plugging in different speakers.

Sounds like a bad sound processor on your board. To be honest, I've seen a few of these on Dell computers recently. I would recommend getting an actual audio card to plug in to an expansion port to override your onboard audio. That will solve your problem.

Nevermind. I fixed it. I have the audio going out my HD monitor which is hooked up through HDMI now. Thanks for the suggestions!
