I have just purchased a second hand PC. It doesn't have a sound card.

Board: Legend QDI Advance-10T
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software International, Inc. 6.00 PG 09/20/2001
867 megahertz Intel Pentium III
32 kilobyte primary memory cache
256 kilobyte secondary memory cache

All I want is a cheapo sound card so I can use my burning software. Can anyone advise?

So I take it that any sound card will do. Are you into the 5.1 surround sound capability? If not, this is the card to get:
