Sony DVD Burner help

So I was trying to burn a backup DVD of my computer and I get it all ready and then when I check the drive for a DV....I get an error that says: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. The DVDs are Sony so compatibility shouldn't be a problem. could someone please help me?

Did you check for any driver updates?

there isnt any drivers to the burner

Did you check their site and ask around? Maybe contact the support service? Check all the connections? Anything like that?
