What do you mean, when you "reset" your computer? Do ya mean a clean install of the Operating system, or ya have turned it off/on?

He means restart.

Defrag the Drive, scan for viruses and spywares...you know the drill.

I mean clean the whole system and install every thing.

You reinstall the entire operating system? as in windows XP?

well after you do that how many programs are you installing on it.

what types of programs.

you should stop them from running at startup via msconfig (start/run/msconfig)

tab over to services and edit the services that are unneeded IE. Adobe speed launch, ect...

required services would be antivirus and firewall services.
