Dear all,
I have a HP computer P6557c that has maximum RAM installed at 4GB (PC2-6400).
If I want to have more RAM, can I just upgrade the motherboard?
And, if I should do it, what kind of motherboard should I buy?
Any suggestion is very educational to me and greatly appreciated.

If you can find a motherboard that will fit the case thats made by HP then yes you could. What form factor is your motherboard? It more then likely is designed in a way that if you put a normal Micro or Full ATX it may not line up.

There use to be Memory Expansion cards but these were for PC 3200/2700/2100 memory. I haven't been able to find something like this for your type of memory.

Well you simply cannot upgrade the RAM by itself. Yes you can upgrade your mother board itself.because even though you install more RAM on your existing mother board that ram cannot be used by the computer. So the motherboard can be upgraded.
