Hello, been running windows 8 for about 2 months, put up with it because people sed you 'get used to it' well i didnt still hate it.

So today i put my old windows 7 install disk in, deleted my drives partitions, and i get this message:;

""Setup was unable to create new system partition or locate an existing system partition.""

Ive done a few restarts, ive formated, ive re deleted. Not to sure whats going on?

Help would be greatly appriciated :)

I had this exact problem last week when my brother old os drive finally crashed. Since he never put a dvd drive in his tower i used the microsoft tool to move the install files to a usb 3 drive. That didnt work. My solution was to change the install media from usb3 to an old copy of win7 I has sitting on a USB2 drive.

Thanks for your advice, i dont know how i got it to work but by sheer luck: Heres My Last Steps;

1)Delete the drives
2)Shutdown
3)unplug any additional HD you are not using for the install.
4)Reboot
5)Format the Drive
6)Restart

Then it worked. I have no idea what did the trick. but thanks anyway :)
