Screen is Messed Up

I have an Acer laptop. Recently, the screen goes up and down slightly, and now at random times the screen freezes and begins lighting up. The only way to get rid of the lighting up screen is to move the computer lid to certain places. What's wrong?

Is the screen going dark, then the backlight comes back on when you move it?

It doesn't turn dark, it lights up, then when I move the lid to certain positions the light will go back to normal.

yes

it quickly gets brighter and brighter till its just white and gray

Sounds like either you've got bad wiring, or the connector is coming loose.

Try using the continuity tester function on a multimeter to test the wiring. It's probably a very simple fix.

what's a continuity tester and what's a multimeter? sorry

Put it on ohms (the little hoseshoe) and put one lead at each end of the wire, then move the screen. This will tell you which wire needs replacing. Cut your work in half.
