I really want to make my own. Friend says you cnt just go to Fry's and buy anything you want becasue of compatibility isues? that true? Where do i go to find out what fits with what? cool. thanks.

yes there are some issues with compatibility. Just make sure that the mobo supports the cpu (usually same socket, but in dual cores not all 939 mobos support amd x2) and that the mobo supports the ram. (same speed and amount of pins) And that the case is the right size for the mobo, atx mobo fits in atx case etc.

And how to find that info? Anywhere u can buy separate computer parts they should have detailed specs about the parts that they are selling.
