Router issues?

Not exactly sure what to do..

We got a new router 3 months ago, and things were going fine. Roughly 2 weeks ago the internet started getting sluggish, the speed was very off and on. We've had people come out twice, had our speed tested and everything was up to speed. I just hooked a PC up directly to the modem and it's working fine.. This leads me to believe it's a faulty router

Has anyone ever heard of a router that works off and on? Or one that works but drains speed from the internet? I really don't want to get a new one, but if I have to..

Have you tried resetting the router? Sometimes that fixes the slow speeds. Also I would recommend that you do a firmware update just to make sure that you have the most current version.
