i recently restored windows(pretty much reinstalling) and it shows my AMD Athlon 64-bit 3000+ going 1 ghz slower, any suggestions?

wow, that's a big difference, go into your bios and check if that's right, if it is that low, then raise it back up to normal speed.

go to the bios and check the clock speeds from there. If they show up 1 ghz lower in there too then start oc'ing. And keep an eye on the temps when oc'ing, it should easily get to the default speeds, but it never hurts to be carefull.

And a silly question, but u know that it should be running at 1.8 Ghz or 2.0 Ghz, not 3.0 Ghz?

that cannot be right, its been knocked off 1Ghz, are you sure you remember the stock speed right?

yes it used to be 1.8ghz and it says it is in bios but then in system properties it says 793 mhz but some times it also says 1.59 ghz i think the the system properties is messed up, is there a 3rd party cpu tester thats free?
