Hello! I have been looking at upgrading my computer so I can play games at the highest settings and not being restricted to lower settings. I mostly play StarCraft II and during games with large unit numbers and my fps drops very low making it almost unplayable until the unit count drops.

Budget 2~3k. I've considered getting a new computer and just giving my current one to a family member, but decided to look into upgrading it first.

I'm not exactly sure what is even worth upgrading in a computer to improve gaming performance so I will list out everything I can think of about my system... if I miss a big item please let me know and I'll post whatever it is...

Dual monitors: FLATRON W2242T x2 - 1680 X 1050 screen resolution - landscape orientation
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz 2.67GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 6.00 GB
System type : 64 bit Operating System, x64 bases processor

Video card: NVIDIA GeGorce GTX 560

The video card I having been looking to upgrade for a while. I'm not sure if upgrading this would help out my gaming, but I want to get one that has an HDMI hookup on it.
I am looking on the NVIDIA website for a new one of these, but I am unsure if my computer would be even able to handle one of the high-end graphics card they have there... If you know of a good NVIDIA card that has an HDMI hookup and if it looks like my computer would be able to handle it please let me know!

I'll say it again, if I missed any big parts that have anything to do with gaming performance please let me know and I'll get the information on what I have!

Thanks to anyone that can help me out!

Upgrade your RAM, 6GB is pretty low. go 10 or 16GB you'll have much better performance. if you have 2-3k to spend go with a better Graphics card, maybe a GTX680 or Titan, or 690. CPU could also be a better i7.
