Well this is my first post here and I need some help with RAM. Can anyone tell me how i can figure out what kind of DDR I need. I know its either DDR266,DDR333,or DDR400. I have an Intel Pentium 4 processor if that can help at all. thanks

I don't want to sound like a complete idiot but I forget what mobo I have. Can you tell me how to figure out what it is and its not a brand-name PC

Manufacturer:Intel
Model: D865PERL
Chipset:i865p/PE/G/i848P
SouthBridge:82801EB(ICH50
Senor:ITE F0D1

And I'm sorry if I am bothering you lol

no problems, it's an 865 chipset, probably DDR400, I'll check and confirm

EDIT:

Memory

Four 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM sockets
Support for DDR 400, DDR 333, and DDR 266
Support for up to 4 GB of system memory

LINK TO YOUR BOARD SPECS

CPU-Z will tell you whats in there, if you're buying more all modules will run at the lowest speed e.g. if you have DDR333 and put in DDR400 the 400 will run at 333 speeds.

See the piece I just added to my post regarding ram speeds
