Quick Question

I want to know how the heck I set up a printer network and a network in general...I have a vista and a xp pc sitting next to each other and have printers hooked up to both of them...I want to be able to print to the printer on the xp pc from the vista and vice versa... As well as I want to access files on the other pc from the one any help or if u need any additional info plz reply thanks in advance for the help

which ever pc you want to be at the top of the network tree is where you start
control panel > printers and other hardware > view installed printers or fax printers
right click the printer and select sharing
click the share this printer option
name the printer
click okay

that should work

Ok So i tried the steps above to no avail not working for me or im prolly jus doin something wrong...Anyway I want to access the printer that is installed on the dell desktop running xp from the HP runnin vista
