question regarding buiding a new pc

i got another new question. if i got $600 budget to build a new comp i would do the followings advices would be appreciated:
celeron d 3.06ghz
asus 5 pci don't know which but must be 800mhz fsb\gigabyte
nvidia 128mb agp
1gb ddr
ATA 200gb western digital 8mb buffer 7200rpm OEM
benq 16x dvd+dual layer rewriter
any one would have any other good ideas would be appreciated.

You have to give us better specs, more detailed. Now why do you have a gig of memory and a celeron cpu?

this is because the problem of the budget and i want a fast cpu that's all. the specs i provided is limited because that's all i know what i would need, suggestions would be appreciated!

Celeron's suck. Get 512 of meory and a better cpu. Acctualy give me a couple hrs and ill build you a system.

If you want a fast CPU, you'll have to spend a little more for your system. For $600, you can get a decent mid range PC build. You have to be aware of bottlenecks too. Having a fast CPU won't make your computer efficient if your other components are low grade. You'll have to balance it out to get most out of it and that means paying more for a fast machine. But if you just want a fast CPU, we can give you some ideas to fit your budget. I'll do some research to see.

For the specs you see in my sig, I spent approx. $1200-$1400. Can't remember actual figures. It also depend on what manufacturer you get for your components.
