My ram slots looks like this on the mobo

Channel A DIMM 0 <------512MB
Channel A DIMM 1

Channel B DIMM 0 <------512MB
Channel B DIMM 1

I'm getting 2gg more, should I just leave it how it is and install in the two empty slots? or put them both in the same channel?

Depends on how your memory is set up. Your drawing is a dual channel set up. Same size and type card in both 0 slots. (You can have memory in the 1 slots but they have to match on A and B channels.) If you get 2 one gig sticks you can put them in the 1 slots and run in dual channel mode. Dual channel is a little quicker in response time. The setting are in the bios.
If you just want a straight 3 gigs then 512 in the two A channels and the 2 one gig in the B channels.

Yeah its always better to ground yourself, you can touch the side of the case, or use an antistatic wrist strap.

Ok thanks but just one more quesion one of my games needs 2gb RAM if I do the seperate channels so 1.5gb in each channel will the game be able to run smoothly?
