I have a Quantum Fireball hard drive that has problems. When it's plugged in the computer it spins up then immediately clicks and spins up to a very fast speed and repeats process for about a minute then stops.

Any ideas on how to fix?

Thanks.

Sounds to me that either your hard drive is corrupted somehow, or the arm is sticking. Try taking the hard drive out, and dropping it on its side on a flat, solid surface from about an inch above it. Don't drop it from too high. Banging on things, especially hard drives, is typically a bad idea, but sometimes it's the only way to get a stuck read/write arm free. Also, don't try this method unless it's your final option.
