Public Net Computers - updates to programs?

On the public net computer I'm using (my mum works at the library), some programs will update (Outpost and Mcafee), but others like Spyware Doctor and Windows Defender wont, now Outpost and Spyware Doctor are cracked, but that shouldn't make a difference, since Outpost is working and updating still... And I have set rules for SD and WD in Outpost, so that's all fine... I'm really confused here, someone help please. Come to think of it Windows Updates wont install either...

Thanks in advance for the help...

Toby.

go into spyware doctor or whatever program isnt updating on its own then there should be an option to tell it to update on its own

I mean that I click on smart update - it tries to update, then says error, cannot update, works fine at home... must be the server the libraries use or something, or I'll try install a different version, but yeah... It's odd, as most other programs update fine... Only two that don't are Windows Defender and Spyware Doctor.
