Printer preparation annoying

My HP C5180 Photoshop printer will run a printer preparation a couple of times a day and first copy printed in the morning. It is annoying since I only make 5-6 copies a day and it takes over a minute to run the printer preparation. Is there any way of turning this function off? I am using Windows 7 and the printer drivers are up to date.

my new Canon does this as well. I just thought that's the way it is. but I'm lucky if I print 5-6 times a month.

I know, this doesn't help ya. But at least you know your not the only one.
