Please help

All of a sudden my computer is getting the same problems...."program not responding" and after I open a web page, I click on a link on that page and it all freezes...
What's going on??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well your here anyway.So what is your description of "freezes" ?
There are many,I like the kind you eat,but continue.
Maybe your too impatient,some web pages have a lot to load.
Watch the progress bar at the bottom of the window,even that has to be patient.eg pic 32 pic 31 pic 2 etc.

scandisk your harddrive from tools.
Then defragment your drive.
Get a copy of regclean-or a registry correction program and run it.
go start>run>type msconfig into the window then choose startup and pull entries from the list which you do not need at boot.
