I looked online for gfx cards and realized that they were supported by pci express 2.0. So I goggled pci express 2.0 and saw that they have the same number of pins but has double the bandwidth and wattage of a PCI Express 1.1. What I didn't find was that can I put in a Graphics card that supports PCI Express 2.0 on my motherboard with normal PCI Express with no problems. If I could, would I be getting the full benefits of the graphics card?

Yes, PCIe 2.0 video cards are fully backwards compatible with PCIe 1.0 motherboards. Even though PCIe 2.0 is capable of offering double the bandwidth, you really wont see much, if any, difference in performance running the card on a PCIe 1.0 motherboard.
