Hi everyone, I am overdue to upgrade our main Dell PC (6 years old). It operates windows xp with office 2003 and is getting slowwww. I have been toying with the idea of investing in an apple iMac desktop. I run a small electrical contracting business (5 Employees) using this computer and a few trade specific softwares and wondered what everyones opinion and reasons for these opinions were on the age old argument ....MAC or PC....?? Thanks in advance.:)

Macs are overpriced and i find it no point in learning a whole new operating system when you are already accustomed to windows.

Now dont get me wrong, macs are great pieces of machinery and practically use the same components as a pc but since it is a name brand in a sense, they jack up the prices on them by a ridiculous amount. Though macs are good for graphical design and photoshop, i dont not think it will be neccessary for your line of work. I am assuming you will use your computer for like excel spredsheets, quickbooks, and possibly CAD software. I think a pc will be perfect for your needs and will save you a few bucks as well

My opinion (the short version)

You get more for your money by buying a PC. and you have allot more to choose from.
Macs are too expensive and overrated.
So i will advice you to go for a PC.
but someone else in this forum are gonna tell you otherwise.

When you buy a new computer you can still use the old one.
Try Linux. it's free and works great and faster then Windows.
Then 2 of your employees can be online at once.

you can make Linux look and feel like mac if you want it to. Like so:

Or a little more Windows like. Like So:
