Figured I'd keep you guys posted with my PC happenings. I have this week off school, so I'm finally getting around to upgrading my PC. What I plan on doing:

-New 750W Xigmatek PSU:

I can finally replace my 550W Rosewill, I've been afraid of that thing blowing up my computer. More than enough power, quad +12V rails with 18A each, making for a grand total of 72A. Should be nice and future proof. Not the most reputable brand, but I've heard some good things about them. And the price was right.

-New 9800GTX+:

$130 after rebates, awesome deal. Looking at benchmarks, this card beats the HD 4850 at my res (1680x1050). Benchmarks:

-Add 2GB RAM (to make it 4GB):
I'm not sure about this, but I do have 2GB DDR2-800 lying around doing nothing. The problem is, they're different sticks than the ones I have in now. Right now I have these in:

And I'm gonna add these:

Both sets are the same speed and have the same timings, but I'm not sure the PQI RAM can handle 2.1V. I'm still looking to see what it's rated at. Hopefully it'll be fine though.

-Swap in DFI Bloodiron P35 mobo:
Bought this off some guy on CF, actually. I was going to use it for my server build, but when I scrapped that I figure I might as well go from a P965 to a P35 board.

-And last but not least, I'll be going to Vista once and for all. I'm gonna do a full reformat, I have way too much crap on my PC. I'm going to try to use my Zune as a backup drive. It has a cracked screen, but I think it should still work otherwise.

So hopefully my parts will come tomorrow and I can get working. I can finally catch up on all the games that I've been missing out on because my graphics card was being finicky. Any suggestions?

Now it's time to start backing stuff up for a reformat :)

Sounds great, should see a nice performance increase. Plus now you can fully jump into DX10.

The Xigmateks are manufactured by CWT, who also do the Thermaltake Toughpower and Corsair VX series.

I knew that...which is why I bought it. I haven't seen any in depth reviews of their PSUs though, so I was a little hesitant, but it should be good.
look no further than your 'egg link, someone else is also running them at 2.1v so you should be fine...
Ah, good call, I didn't think to read the reviews. +1 for that.

I own a Xigmatek PSU. It's fantastic. The 650w can handle 2 Core 216 in SLI with 1 hard drive and a Q6600 overclocked to 3.0ghz. We had a big argument if it could or couldn't, haha.
