Ok folks, here's my situation....

I recently got a hold of an old NEC Versa 6050MX Laptop.
150 Mhz (with MMX), 48 MB RAM, 2 gig HDD.

Now, I want to put linux on it, although after hours of googling I can't seem to find a version that can run KDE....only versions that run a command line interface; on my aging laptop.

Win XP/2K have the same problems (of course).

I know anything other than 98(SE) or ME is REALLY gonna slow it down, but I can deal with that.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I have something like yours.
Toshiba Tecra 520cdt
P1/166/64 megs of ram
2 gig HD

We both are way below the minimum specs for xp and ME is a joke. I run win98se on mine and it runs just fine. Sorry other than that I wish I could help. Old lappies are picky about what will work and what won't.

I can actually get Me to run fine (except movie maker).
I REALLY want to throw a linux distro on there, though.
What the hell, I may put Win 3.11 and DOS 6.22 before it's over :D

I've also considered UNIX....something I've wanted to try for a long time.....but alas....compatibility issues.

I'm torn between using is as a webserver for my site, and just the old clunker I carry all the time.
