since intel is switching down to 45nm for the new real quad cores in the fall
does that mean intel will be using a brand new socket?

I haven't heard anything of a new socket yet, but it could be possible since technology changes so fast. If I find anything I'll let you know.

t/u im just hope that quad core on 2 dies instead of one is all i can ever upgrade to in time
i want true quad core 1 die

I haven't read anything of new sockets yet, all I could find was penryn and that it will support DDR3.

ya i found that to and pci express 2.0
witch i expect most graphics cards so be compatible with regual pci express
software needs to catch up
hardware is so much more advanced then what software is being made for

there isnt going to be a new socket because current mobos already support the 1333 FSB which is what the new 45nm cpus will be using and there LGA775
