NFTS to FAT32?

I read an article on how to conserve diskspace, and in it the article suggested formatting from NTFS to FAT32. Now I have no idea what they do, because I'm not a hard drive person, but if I was to format from NTFS to FAT32 on the HDD that has windows on it, will Windows be whipped out? Or will anythign else happen that could prevent me from booting up into Windows?

If you format, everything you have on the disk will be lost (including Windows).

I wouldn't recomend formatting for FAT32 when NTFS is newer, faster and WinXP is more compatible with.

But its your choise on what you do, but if I was you, I would leave NTFS on it.

Good luck anyway,
Jamie

I heard just the opposite regarding compatibility. Someone told me or maybe I read it from somewhere that FAT32 was more compatible than NTFS. But in either case, it's like starting over again from scratch. Reformat, change file system type and reinstall everything.

definately NTFS b/c fat32 only lets you save up to 4gb at a time so if you ever use big files it is not good for you...
