I am looking for the minimum requirements for a laptop.
We are a small town motorsports photography business in need of a way to display our photos. We take photos every weekend and need to be able to show our results the next weekend.
I know very little about laptops, and even less about the components within, but I do know our requirements.
We need to be able to display photo files stored on Cd's. These Cd's will have anywhere from 100 to 250 files ranging in size from 1.5 to 2.5 MB. We need to be able to view these files in a slide show form.

I would like to stay with a Windows XP os and I know we will need a CD drive.
What do we need as far as processor speed, memory, hard drive and whatever else we need?

We certainly don't want a high-end system and will probably search for a used laptop.
Any input will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time and assistance.

well look on eaby . I reckon a pentium 3 266-500mhz with 128 mb ram hard drive of around 4gb. Also a cd drive is not essential as you can put the photos on usb memory sticks and use theese for that function that the cd would use . also that would be cheaper as there would be no need for a new cd every weekend

Another possibility is to buy portable dvd players and produce the slideshow as if i they were a dvd movie then use the portable dvd players to show off your work .This may be cheaper as well
EDIT>
Here found the kind of thing that would do the job
