I just bought a new toshiba notebook, and I want to transfer my music files, important documents etc...what is the easiest way to do this?

Thanks,
Matt

Do you have a local network? (How do you get internet access?)
Do you have a flash drive?
What would you like to transfer from? Is it connected to a local or home network?
What volume of files are you talking about? 100Mb, 100GB?
Do you have a thumb drive?

I do have a local network. I was under the impression that a removable drive would have to be reformatted to work with a pc vs a mac.

Thanks for the quick responses.

Matt

OH, about 160 Gb of music files are the most important ones, and about 100 gigs of pro tools files, but those will be living on another removable drive.

You should be able to transfer the files across your local network.

[Edit] My nephew temporarily stored about 50 Gigs of music on a Window computer from his Mac. You would need to create a shared folder on your Toshiba, then you should be able to transfer the files from you Mac to the PC. [end edit]
