V votka Beta member Messages 4 Location USA Oct 4, 2014 #1 Hello guys. I recently bought a new CPU for my desktop AMD fx 8350 4.0 ghz 4.2 turbo, unlocked. When i go to System it says that my processor speed is 3.7 ghz, i even checked CPUID it's at 3.7 ghz. Why is it not at 4.0?

jarlmaster In Runtime Messages 473 Location USA Oct 4, 2014 #2 CPU's reduce their clock speed at idle these days if you leave all default settings on. If you play a game it will bump up to 4.2
