Network Audio

Hi guys.
My parents' computer has a sound card, but no speakers or anything to listen with. My computer does however have some speakers.

Seeing as both computers are in the same room, and very close to each other, is it at all possible, software or hardware-wise, to have the speakers shared between computers? Perhaps, a program that sends sound buffer from my parents computer to my computer through the network and plays it with my speakers, or maybe there is an adapter i can get (this i assume is true) that splits the plug for 2 computers. I would much prefer a piece of software.

i highly doubt it, because even over a home network the sound buffer would lag slightly, making video\sound be way off(probably as high as a second)

you can get VERY cheap speakers though, there is some as low as 3$+shipping here

Thankyou - I did know there were cheap speakers but was hoping for a simpler solution - that and I like the thought of networking things just for the sake of it

you could get one of those ipod radio transmitters and play your audio through a radio
