need some graphic card advice

I am building myself a new computer primary for gaming and have a question that some of you may be able to answer.

I have been looking at getting a 4870x2 but wont be using a resolution higher than 1900 x 1200, would i be spending more than i need to for the resolution i'll be using

I don't think it's worth it, you also need a quad-core CPU to get the most out of it. I think you'll be fine with a 4870.

If you can afford it, then I don't see why not. You will be fine with the 4870 though, because the X2 is really expensive as you probably already know.

I agree with Cabbs, a HD 4870 X2 just isn't worth it for 1920x1200. Go with a HD 4870 or maybe a GTX 280 if you play with full AA/AF.
