Hello Everyone and good day J

I have a lenovo laptop model SL-510 TYPE 2847-BWG

And I want to Upgrade his Memory

So I have been read Detailed specifications in the site of lenovo about my laptop model

( i attached the link in the end of the post )

and see that my laptop model support up to 8GB maximum memory with Dual-channel capable

Then I noticed under the specifications this details :

Memory
  • PC3-8500 Non-Parity (NP) Double Data Rate Three (DDR3) Technology
  • PC3-10600 Non-Parity (NP) Double Data Rate Three (DDR3) Technology
  • Dual-channel capable
  • Two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets
  • 1 GB, 2GB, 3GB, 4GB,
  • Supports up to 8GB maximum memory

So of course I would rather upgrade to 8gb ram with 2x4GB

Because I just have two slots …

But I'm a little confused … What's better? The PC3-8500 or the PC3-10600 ?

And should I take two sticks of the same model ? same company ?

for they be work on dual Together ?

Of course, I'd love you to recommend me suitable types of memories models

And Recommended Companies

I appreciate your help and want to Thanks in advance everyone J

The difference between PC3-8500 and PC3-10600 is speed. The PC3-10600 is the better one, but not by much. Ram speed is not as important at it use to be, but i would still go wit the 10600 because it's almost the same price as 8500.

You can mix RAM. Say you buy a 2gig stick from corsair and a 4 gig stick from kingston. They will work together, but they will not run in dual channel because of capacity difference. Different speeds will also work together, but the faster one will slow down to the slower RAMs mhz.
But there are a draw back to mixing RAM. The stability can take a hit. So if you are not on a budget, buy a new RAM kit.

PC10600 is faster.

It's best to buy a pair of identical sticks (they don't have to be in a kit), but if you're buying the cheapest available then there's little point looking for two different companies. Just buy two at the same time.

I'll miss a few I suspect, but the following brands tend to be okay: "Kingston", "Corsair", "Crucial", "G.Skill", "OCZ"

What you want is a dual flex kit and the PC3-10600 is faster. I have Gskill in one computer and Corsair in another and they're both solid.

thanks for your replys dear friends

I found some models

Which one do you think is right for me

1) Corsair Memory — 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 SODIMM Memory (CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9)

3) KINGSTON 8GB (2x 4GB DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600 Sodimm Laptop Memory KVR1333D3S9/4G

I would appreciate if you can tell me What is the best model and the best quality

And what is very important to me is the dual channel memory

so what you think ?

Thanks in advance everyone

They're all known brands, and would all serve your purpose absolutely fine. Buy whichever ends up the cheapest.

They'll all run in dual channel mode, shouldn't be any incompatibilities.

thanks again for the reply ,
so Finally, I decided to Purchase (new ) the Kingston KVR13S9S8/4
(8GB(2x 4GB) DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600 (204 PIN) SO-DIMM)
to my laptop model Lenovo thinkpad SL-510 TYPE 2847-BWG
( Of course after reviewing specifications Computer support up to 8 gb memory )
but when I put the memory cards into my laptop and try to turn on my laptop the screen is not turn on and stay black screen
Of course, the computer does not beep ,
When I return the old memory (2 gb stick ) to computer is working and screen show up

I would appreciate it if anyone has / have suggestions or ideas for this problem ?
