My screen has become abit distorted ? help

I have winxp .. all of a sudden my pics became pinky they have pink lines on it. My start button has weird squiggles and so do any pics i have ? .. pink squiggles??
any ideas my pc is just 8 months old .. i have just loaded on a web cam toady would that affect it ? ..please help ,,thnks fir ur time ?

I also have like a static affect across my screen from 1 side to another about 2 inches long just over half way up ?

Does it appear after a while . Winxp do you mean windows xp or another program.

That is pretty weird - is it always different or always exactly the same. How long does it take to start up? Got any magnets near it?

I assume you have a CRT display, if so, do you have a degauss button?
It may have been affected by a magnetic field. Does a "thump" come from the tube on switch on? Try turning the monitor around to see if the display changes.

Have you tried a different graphics card?, or your graphics card in another system?

Does this fault happen straight away or after some time?
