My Latop Won't Boot

I'm having an issue with my compaq presario v4000 and I thinkt he issue is my motherboard.

I plugged in this morning as usual and the laptop booted up fine..I noticed the screen was dark and I tried to adjust the brightnest but it wouldn't change. i then shut the machine down using the windows xp shut down menu but after the machine turned off, the screen wasn't off, you could still see the backlight on althoiuhg it was very dim. I panicked and quickly removed the battery.

the laptop hasn't turned on since...no power...no response fromt the motherboard...no indication that it is charging...nothing

is my motherboard dead?

umm on first thoughts yes lol

i know some mothrboard have the power supply built on but some are remobable might be worth chaging the power supply

I think this one is built in.....ahh kinda sucks...
