Please tell me if this setup is a good choice to use to play Half-life 2.

Yes but you could upgrade the video card to a 6600GT its much better bang for your buck.
 
Did you just customize that? Yeah that'll definately be able to handle half-life 2 or anything on par with the source engine for that matter. From what I've heard the Foxconn motherboards are for low-budget machines, try and get an Asus Nforce4.
 
Yeah, it should play it just fine. I have my x800 playing it at highest settings (128x1040) and I have no lag and it runs perfect (i've overclocked, of course, but still)
 
The 6600 core isn't the best at HL2. HL2 was designed for ATI chips' architectures. But it will play fine.
