I am limiting myself to $1000 - 1200 on my new computer. I'm in to MMO gaming and first person shooters so this is what I was thinking...

Get this laptop .... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i7+Processor+/+17.3%22+Display+/+6GB+Memory+/+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Black/9741729.p?id=1218165344675&skuId=9741729&st=asus%20g73&cp=1&lp=1

or build something like this

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215&cm_re=intel_i5-_-19-115-215-_-Product

Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131623&cm_re=asus_motherboard-_-13-131-623-_-Product

Vid Card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130339

Ram - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277&cm_re=ddr3-_-20-231-277-_-Product

HD- ~$100

PowerSupply- ~$70

Case - ~$100

Cooling- ~$?

Dvd Burner etc - ~$100

*Am I missing anything major?

So which build would run my games better? Do you have any better ideas with my budget?

The laptop is a pretty sweet setup, and would run the games you're looking to play, so it's really down to a personal preference of yours on whether you want a computer that you can take with you or if you want a computer that you can build yourself and probably get a better setup with the same amount of money. Sorry for the run on sentence.

As for the desktop:
Your RAM is rated at 1600MHZ while your MoBo supports up to 1333MHZ RAM. Don't worry though, it will still work as RAM is backwards compatible. I, however, would suggest getting a MoBo that takes advantage of the RAM's speed. Here's one for just a little more than you're paying for the current MoBo.

Personally, I would go with the laptop, just because it's mobile and I already have a desktop.
Anyone feel free to chime in here, but the current build you have, I would think that the laptop is a little more powerful, but then again, I haven't seen the benchmarks or comparisons on the GPU (Vid Card) you listed so I'm sure there will be some discussion about that.
There's my feedback

Edit: Welcome to CF by the way!

It would run them very well actually, that's a great post you found and if you don't mind taking a build from someone else and want a desktop, then I would say go for it!

Edit: +1 VINMAN46, great build!

Thanks for the input if any anyother budget upgrades come to mind please message me =). Will be ready to make some purchases in 2 weeks.
