Movie problems

I downloaded movies on are and mirc, some of them work but other ones dont and i don't know how to get them to work, so is there something i have to do to make them work or is it that it's just like that.

Some might need extra codecs. Does it say on Windows Media player (if you use that) that it needs a special codec?

One that is used alot in compressed movies on the web is DIVX:

Just download the free Divx Program. The third link on that page, and is a driver too which Windows Media Player and any other player should see.
You might find this will make some work
