motherboard question

i have a ASUS A8N-SLi deluxe and it says on the website that is supports SATA 3GB/s so is that the same as SATA 2?

Re: motherboard question

Well that is the transfer speed of SATA 2, so I'd imagine so. Check your motherboard specs to find out for sure.

Re: motherboard question

sata2 is a loosley used term.
it can mean the drive has:
3GB/s transfer speed
and/or
NCQ (native command que)
and a few other things. but if it has a transfer of 3GB/s it technically qualifies as SATA2
