Motherboard

That depends on whether you have a brand name pc like a dell or gateway or if your pc is custom built. And also, can you post the other components you will be using with that so we can tell if there will be any compatibility problems.

If it's a custom built pc, you won't have any problems replacing your current motherboard and processor, you will have to reinstall windows if you are using xp.

If it's a brand name pc like dell or gateway etc, you may have a problem replacing the motherboard and putting it in the case for that pc, which means you may have to buy a new case. Those manufacturers have their motherboards custom made for them and if you try and put an aftermarket motherboard in the case it usually doesn't work.

Intel boards are solid but do not have most of the features enthusiast boards do have so if you don't want to overclock etc then it should be sufficient. Did you consider the X38 or X48 or P45 chipsets?

Why that cpu? the E8400 is newer and cheaper (LINK)

You haven't listed memory, going to use your existing? is it compatible?

EDIT: Good point raised by Tommy Boy, is your case ATX?

A True Folder I had a look at that CPU you suggested and yeah that one is better i will probably go for that.

And my current PC is not custom it is a Time Athlon XP 3000+ and no my case isn't ATX. The motherboard i have in current is
Manufacture: MSI
Model MS-6775

And these are That i shall be getting
Motherboard :http://www.ebuyer.com/product/141245 (Unless anyone has other suggestions.
CPU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139971
RAM: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/114499
Video Card: (not decided)
PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124927 (don't no much about PSU's, so i don't no whether it will work?)

I think i got everything there... So i want to know is this all compatible??

Thanks

Well that board is a full ATX form factor so unless you have a suitable case it won't fit. (Intel)

Otherwise it all looks fine, if you're not into overclocking then the stock cpu cooler should be fine.

Just to clear things up a but, the MSI MS-6775 motherboard is an ATX form factor. His new board should have no problem fitting into his case.

oh sorry i didn't relise i don't no to much about cases or motherboards sizes, glad you all could sort me out though:D

cheers
