im starting to build my first build.......and i wondered which i should get. should i spend the extra 30 or 40 bucks for the 780i which maybe eventually i could expand my graphics cards or am i just fine with the 680i sli? im kinda stuck.

see thats what i mean....im going to use 2. but.....you never know when i go...hmmm....i have some extra money i want to throw another on there. ....so should i just spend the lil extra for the 780i......i mean besides the 2 or 3 graphics cards the rest is the same isnt it?

are u by any chance vega

and you may as well if you do have extra money some day and cards a become cheaper . i carnt see y not. just make sure you can sli 2 cards aswell as 3 on 780i

What are the rest of the specs of the computer? You want the motherboard to reflect the quality of the rest of the computer. So you don't want a $1,000 processor with a $75 motherboard, or vice versa.

i have the Thermaltake armor case....

and this is what i plan to fill it with

ABS tagen bz series 800w psu
eVGA nvdia nforce 680i or 780i sli mobo
duel eVGA geforce 8800gts 512MB gfx card
intel quad core cpu
500gb harddrive ( dunno which yet )
4gb of ram ( dunno which yet )
undecided liquid cooling system.
and ill be running vista 64bit.

but if you sli 3 8800gts , ur not going to be able to fit any other cards in lol
