Laptop overheated and powered off and now when i hit the power button the fans spin up and the DVD drive checks but i get nothing on screen or any hard drive activity.

I have tried pulling battery out and fully discharging the laptop and have tested each of the two RAM's individually on each socket but still dead.

Any Advice ?

When you power it on, watch the LEDs for the caps lock, scroll lock and num lock. See if they flash once soon after you power it on and report back.

No they don't. I have another processor on order. I think this is the cause. It's only £4 so if it don't work it's not the end of the world.

Thats the CPU/HEATSINK area, i dont see any burnt areas :)

An athlon overheating, odd, but the old ones do run hot, my gateway would run 56C on prime95 with just a 3400+. I'de put some new thermal paste on both the cpu and the chipset. Also cleaning out the fans would do some good.

Its a Toshiba Satellite L350D-12M.

And im sure something has overheated, just take a look at this image lol
