Laptop problem

Hi everyone, my friend came to me the other day asking if i knew what was wrong with his laptop. He said that when it first started acting weird it turned on a blue box popped up saying "beginning dump of physical memory" and he couldnt stay on it for more than 10 or 20 minutes, and now the whole thing just wont boot up. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be.
he has an HP pavilion zv6000.

Are you talking about the 'blue screen of death'?? Did the blue box that your referring to pop up immediately or after the 10-20 minutes that he could use it?

yes i do believe it is the blue screen of death, haha, I'm going to try to wipe the computer clean and do a system restore.
