laptop memory

hi, i would like to upgrade my memory in the laptop i just got.
it has 256 mb pc2700 ddr sdram 166mhz.
my question is, does standard memory fit laptops. that is the memory what i would fit into my p.c, would fit into my laptop?

answer to your question is no, you need a different kind of RAM to fit in laptops

the type you need is SO-DIMM i believe! if im wrong someone else will let you know im sure!

i got the one i need and im ready to order it.
all i need to know now is, is it as easy to install as regular memory?
and can a relative novice like me do it?

as far as im aware it is generally easier to install, as you just unscrew a panel on the back and then clip it in... so i reckon you would be able to do it
