Keyloggers on my computer...

hi guys, first post here; i like this forum

ok so i had a friend build me a computer and it was great and everything. then i find out like 3 days ago that apparently this kid always puts some sort of super secret keylogger or something on the computer he builds for people (and we're his friends...)

one of my other friends found it on theirs and he admitted to installing it. he promised me he didnt put one on mine, but i want to double check. i ran adaware, which is what my other friend found it with, but nothing came up.

are there any programs i can run that will make absolutely sure that i have no keyloggers or parental software things running on my computer without my knowing? because ive seen a lot of good ones out there that can evade adaware and not be shown in the task manager or program files...
