Keyboard issues

My friends cuz has a win xp and she can type in her password, but after that she cannot use the keyboard, all the computer does is beep, right now i am having her try it in safemode to see if it does the same thing and after that she is running a virus scan.

after those what can i try or do yu guys know what the problem is, i thought i might have been some IRQ problem but celegorm says its not.


help would be awesome.

try tuning off the password
