iPod Touch Killer?

I am a iPod hater as many here know so I just decided to share what I think is going to be the next iPod Touch Killer. The Cowon O2.

I have been keeping track of this(God's gift as Google News) and have found out that this is being released very soon. In Korea it's just been released and according to the price's there, it looks like its priced against the iPod Touch.

I believe it beat's the iPod Touch hands down because it has a SD slot but it also has a large amount of files supported.
File Types supported my the Cowon O2:
ivX, XviD, WMV, H.264, M-JPEG, MPEG-4 SP / ASP, MPEG1 videos and MP3, WMA, AC3, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Apple Lossless, WAV, G.726, PCM, True Audio , Monkey Audio, MusePack. Wow, that Monkey Audio (APE lossless)

But what Cowon believes is the iPod Touch killer is the Cowon S9:

It's going to come in 8Gb, 16Gb, and 32Gb but I'm not sure about the pricing. It supports most of the file types that the O2 supports.

What price would these have to be for you to buy them over the iPod?

for me it only has to be made by someone besides apple and not need itunes. if zune's were to come with a touch screen it would slaughter the ipod touch like the pig it is. zune > ipod even without the touch.

i get a cheap MP4 player from china for like $40. (dont know why they call it a MP4 player)
Its pretty cheap and might break easily, but ive been having one for almost a year i think.
To me, a MP3 player is an MP3 Player.
I would rather use a PSP to play my videos, and pictures because it has a large screen, and ability of being able to play games is a plus too.

They do look nice though, but everytime i spend $100+ on a mp3 player, it only lasts me about a month for some reason, while with the cheap ones, it will last me about a year.
I dont know why, but it always turns out that way. Then again, i use my MP3 about 5-18 hours a day.

No one knows what the hell Cowon even is, it has no infrastructure behind it- the Touch has a music, movie, and an app store, and tons of accessories. That Cowon will do nothing against the touch.

Yes, it supports more formats, but the majority of touch users will never appreciate that nor understand that. I'd take a touch over it any day- simply due to the better infrastructure behind it. Hardware isn't everything.

Cowon is a reliable brand and is rated four stars on Amazon. Here the Cowon D2 16Gb is selling for $190. Add another 16Gb card from newegg and you have a 32Gb player for $230.

It has many players that are remarkable that can't compare to a iPod.

The Cowon A3 series has 30Gb, 60Gb, and 80Gb models out that offer remarkable performance. Their prices are even more to look at:

Has anyone here had to deal with apple support? Many people here can say apple support is pretty unbalanced in quality.

All I want is a PMP that plays music, Plays videos, and has plenty of space. Sure the iPod Touch has "apps" and all, but do you really need them? Wifi, you don't NEED. Games? Get a PSP/DS.

That Cowon will do nothing against the touch huh? The reason I hate apple PMPs(Yes, all iPod except the shuffle, are Personal Media Players. So many people don't know there's even a market out there for them.) is because they spend there money on a iPod, not knowing that there are alternatives out there.

What your saying is that Creative, Cowon, Archos, iRiver, Samsung, Sandisk Sansa's, Insignia, and Toshiba all have no chance against Apples iPods.

Just look at all those brands/players.

You can't say there impacting the iPod market. A lot of people out there are looking for iPod alternatives.
