I got a mac yesterday, and I haven't quite figured everything out yet. I know for Windows there are applications such as Sharepod, and TuneJack2.2. Are there any ways/applications for Macs to take files from an iPod onto the hard-drive? Thanks in advance.

You can use your ipod as just an external hdd if you want. If you look at your ipod, then choose settings, there is an option to choose how much space you want to use just to store files. Then you can use your ipod just like an external hdd. You don't need any programs to do that if you want to go that route.

Cheers!

If the music is not copyright protected, then you should be able to import it to your computer using itunes.

If the songs were purchased from the itunes store, then you will need to use something like Senuti to "unlock" the ipod. Songs purchased from itunes are copyright protected, so that the music will transfer to the ipod, but it is a little more difficult to get it transfered from it.
