internet browser

can anyone please help.

my internet browser only works when i first turn on my computer. as soon as i close the browser it wont let me back in. i have to restart my computer just to get back on the internet.

Can you explain this better? What do you mean it wont let you back in?

Also what are the specs of the computer, what browser and version number are you using etc?

Also, if you havn't ran a virus scan recently give that a run.

well after i turn on my computer and click on the my browser icon my internet pops on. after i close my browser and later in the day try to get back on i click on the icon and nothing happens. i have mozilla firefox 2.0. i've had firefox for a couple years now and never had this problem.
also if i try to make some changes through norton systom works it tells me that i have to shut down internet explorer and i dont have internet explorer opened.

umm i believe i have a work around not a fix but a way round it

i think n e way

next time your browser will not open try this

press CTR ALT DELETE
when task manager comes up click on processes
then click mem usage twice (so the programs using most memory are at the top)
and look to see if you have a SVCHOST.EXE using above 30,000 ish
if there is click it and end process and try open IE again

im having same problem on my family computer i need to really reformate and reinstall xp too many things wrong with it
