Installing Boot-Leg Windows

My friend is building a new PC and we were wondering if you can use pirated windows to install to your computer.
For example

Is it possible? Yes.

Is it legal? No.

Does it come with risks? Many.

A lot of times, pirated software could come laden with viruses and other malware. It is especially common on these "Black Edition" versions of Windows.

Exactly, and then you'd be most likely ending up with a WGA notice about non-genuine software.

Promoting illegal stuff isn't allowed here. It's not the fact that it's free, and TBH, I'm sure people here uses pirated OSes, but we won't say it out loud.

I got a better answer before I close the thread; Linux. It's free, open source, therefore legal and it's as useful as Windows can be, but it's a bit tedious on playing games sometimes.
