Here's the situation. I have a 4 year old (at the very least) Dell Inspiron 1000 with a Celeron M @ 2.2GHz and am looking to upgrade it. I obviously would go for dual core if I could, which is currently looking bleak at the moment. The Celeron M processor is a Socket 478.
Now, I have found multiple sites that have shown the Intel Core Duo T2050 @ 1.6GHz as also being a Socket 478, and some that have shown the same processor as Socket 479 (I have no idea if they are the same...). I am just looking for some suggestions and verification on the Core Duo T2050 socket, and whether it will work with an Inspiron 1000.
Here's the some sites that show the CD T2050 as Socket 478:

Sites that show it as a Socket 479:

In addition, is there anyway that the BIOS would support such an upgrade? If I am not mistaken, the Core Duo's were released in 2006.
Finally, if this processor does work with the machine, could someone possibly verify the integrity of these sites? I have never really heard of any of them and frankly do not want to be scammed at the moment.
Thanks all in advance.
