Indentfiying the Motherboard on a Laptop

I bought a laptop from a friend I worked with almost a year ago. Well, I didn't care much for what was in it, other than making sure it works. Well, I am now curious as to how I can find out what brand and kind of motherboard I have in the laptop. If anything too, the other brands and what not of the other pieces of hardware within it.
